The KC9 pays homage to the Kobra Carry, which took the industry by storm nearly 20 years ago, and has now become the iconic standard for a high end custom 1911, with its revolutionary Ed Brown Bobtail®, stainless steel base, and Snakeskin treatment. Optimized for the 9mm caliber, the KC9 inherits those same characteristics, yet is smaller, thinner, and lighter. The KC9 retains 100% 1911 controls and handling characteristics, and makes use of standard 1911 magazines, and standard 1911 grips with the Ed Brown Bobtail® cut. Some parts were completely re-designed to take advantage of modern improvements such as the new external extractor, easy-to-change front sight, smaller ledge-style rear sight, 4" bull barrel, and a flat wire recoil spring system. The re-engineered slide has been shortened to 4", thinned substantially for weight reduction, and includes a unique 7-top custom cut, with special front and rear serrations. A recessed slide stop completes the package, making for the perfect custom 9mm 1911.

A unique and highly durable Chainlink III pattern provides a secure grip for severe applications, and we've added a recessed slide stop and flattened and serrated top of slide to finish off the package.

Match Grade classic three hole design long trigger made form lightweight aluminum with heat treated steel bow. Slightly oversize height for precise hand fitting. Includes stainless steel adjustable overtravel set screw. Designed for single stack frames only. Minor fitting required.

Ed Brown barrels are machined from T-416 stainless steel bar stock, just like a benchrest rifle barrel. Prior to final rifling, the barrels are stress-relieved and heat-treated to ensure no deficiencies are present. Deep-cut, broached rifling provides superior accuracy with all types of bullets. Barrel dimensions are cut to drop-in tolerances, however due to varying pistol dimensions, installation in some pistols may require very minor material removal which most people can easily do themselves. Includes the bushing, link, and link pin. Designed for 5" Govt Model.

Ed Brown ambidextrous 1911 tactical thumb safety allows the user to operate the safety right or left handed. The tactical thumb safety is trimmed for carry for better concealment. Minor fitting required. Blue.

Designed for those who have difficulty depressing the grip safety, the Ed Brown extended beavertail with memory grooves aid the shooter in deactivation of the grip safety as well as better aligning your hand to the centerline of the bore with the axis of your forearm for enhanced recoil control. This grip safety features grooves cut into the raised pad of the safety for positive depression, even for those with thin or small hands. *Frame modification required* - Uses a .250 radius cut on the frame centered on the thumb safety pin hole. Complete installation instructions included. See our beavertail installation jig #886 for an easy way to establish this .250 radius. Series 70 - Stainless.

Easy to use jig for installation of Ed Brown beavertail grip safety. Designed to slip into the frame through the thumb safety hole to allow you to make the .250 radius cut on each side of the frame without over cutting of the frame. Heat-treated and super hard, so hand filing right up against it is okay. Perfect for gauging as well as fine finishing. Complete installation instructions included.
