The HUB DUAL-LOK® 5 AM Silencer is a managed backpressure 5.56mm suppressor constructed from Griffin’s proprietary Nickel 625X™ powder alloy utilizing state-of-the-art DMLS additive manufacturing technology. This is a major evolution to the DUAL-LOK® family of suppressors which were historically manufactured from traditionally manufactured components. These silencers utilize the industry-standard HUB threaded rear (1.375×24 TPI) allowing the end user to configure their suppressor with any of Griffin’s HUB mount adapters, or other manufacturer’s inserts. The proprietary, patent-pending Nickel 625X™ alloy showed in testing a ~68% increase in yield and tensile strength over additively manufactured INCONEL® 625 at 1200°F. INCONEL® 625 is a commonly used suppressor alloy in current next generation military suppressors. Additively manufactured Nickel 625X™ is stronger at 1472°F than INCONEL® 625 cold formed sheet material at room temperature. INCONEL® 625 cold formed material provided adequate service in the last several decades of military suppressors. The new flash hider end cap reduces system backpressure by peripherally venting gases, resulting in softer recoil impulses, less wear and tear on the host firearm, and reduces operator exposure to toxic gases. This managed backpressure unit takes sound suppression to previously un-obtainable levels of sound performance, offering incredible market leading sound and flash reduction with minimal backpressure. This allows the HUB DUAL-LOK® 5 AM to provide right handed shooters a low backpressure suppressor experience, while left handed shooters should look to our HRT-556 AM ultra LBP suppressors. The original Revolution® 9 & 45 suppressors were the first pistol silencers developed and brought to market with a modular length feature set, and that Griffin innovation inspired all the other modular length pistol suppressors in the US marketplace. The (MOD 4) Revolution® 9 suppressor represents a total redesign around of package of end user feature interaction enhancements, making the suppressor more secure and easier to mount, as well as fast and easy to configure in length, and easy to disassemble, at vastly increased maintenance intervals. The forward extension allows tool-less reconfiguration, and the O-ring biased extension and front cap prevent inadvertent loosening of the extension or cap. The booster housing (mount accessory interface socket) is permanently installed so tightening and loosening the suppressor does not result in loosening of the booster housing. The housing accepts pistons, fixed barrel mounts and spacers, our Griffin developed industry first integrated 3 lug mount, as well as Plan A mounts.
Another major improvement introduced in the MOD 4 generation is the incorporation of Griffin’s patented CARBON-GARD™ baffle technology. This concept, originally debuted in the Checkmate HD suppressor, has applications for pistol suppressors to make cleaning and maintenance of the suppressor easier even after very high round counts. High temp silicon o-rings are positioned at each baffle interface as well as the end cap, blast chamber, and extension tubes to fully seal gases and carbon within the baffle stack. This gas seal prevents lead and carbon fouling from building up between the tube body and the baffle stack, eliminating instances of the baffle core being carbon locked inside of the tube body, a condition that is very annoying for the end user. Revolution® MOD 4 Suppressors ship with an included EZ-LOK™ piston providing a more secure, and rapid mounting system than direct thread. The Griffin MK2 9mm Ambi Lower is the ideal foundation for your next PCC build. Precisely machined from high-grade 7075-T6 aluminum to exact tolerances, the MK2 9mm lower is a premium carbine platform offering proper fitment and utility with mil-spec lower components. To enhance durability, the MK2 9mm lower is hardcoat type 3 anodized for superior resistance to surface wear, scuffs, scratches, and discoloration from cleaning solvents and oils. Included with this lower are Griffin’s ambi magazine release and ambi bolt catch & release controls offering increased usability for right and left-handed shooters. This 9mm lower is a Colt pattern lower capable of receiving affordable 10, 20, or 32 round magazines that have the classic Colt SMG look. It has a 1/4-28 Nylon tipped tension screw equipped lower for a tight fit that can be adjusted to fit end user’s preferences. The feed ramp and magazine interface in this system was improved over Colt. Rather than use a magazine well adaptor assembled to a 5.56mm lower with roll pins to remove excess volume of 5.56mm lowers, the magazine well was attractively and natively sized for the Colt 9mm magazine. The proprietary feed ramp was tuned to deliver cartridges perfectly to the centerline of the chamber of the barrel, unlike the original, pre Colt design which may not have involved a capable CAD system. The ramp is affixed solidly by three allen screws which pull the 17-4 nitrided feed ramp down into the receiver very aggressively utilizing a whistle notch type interface adapted from the CNC cutting tool industry for rock solid interfacing of the feed ramp. The ejector was combined with the bolt catch extension in one component that is intended to work properly as they are put together, needing no “adjustment of the ejector” as with the Original Colt system.
