Great Local Gun Store with quality firearms. The HK USC is a fun reliable carbine. It is dated by today's standard, the rifle is around 20 or so years old and built for the Clinton era gun laws. The mags only hold 10 rounds and picatinny rails are sold separately and can be expensive. The sights are fair at best. With that being said the gun will eat any type of 45 ACP all day without any failures and the rifle is very accurate.

OUTSTANDING FIREARM AND VALUE! This is my first 1911. I really wanted to move into the high-end custom / semi-custom handfit 1911s and to experience that level of quality.

The EVO KC9 has top quality parts, build, fit and finish - the same quality that $3,500+ firearms offer. Ed Brown confirmed this fact; building KC9 in batches allowed them to offer the same quality but at the $1,895 price point, opening doors to different option batches and the 9mm 1911 market segment.

Initial Impressions:
Out of the box - actually out of the very nice and compact range bag made by Bulldog, the KC9 was everything that I was expecting. Excellent fit and finish and attention to detail.

The profile is nice and slim, yet the grips feel substantial in the hand. Bull Barrel. The “Snakeskin” pattern on the front and back of the grip is amazing - hands slide up but not down. The 7-top cut slide is really nice, as are the stylish but functional slide serrations.

The stainless finish quality is excellent.

On The Range:
The “Tactical Edge” rear sight (all-black) is new to me - the half-circle cut is very small which is awesome for precise aiming; I could see the front sight moving even when I thought that I was perfectly still - very accurate!

The front sight is the Orange HD XR in daylight and glows green at night (another first for me, and I like it!) The raised portion of the grip safety definitely helped me transition to 1911.

Mags slide effortlessly in or out with the mag release button depressed. However, a firm press (but no whack) is required to insert with 9 + 1.

The mag release is firm, but I don’t find it to be a problem - I’d rather have a firm press than mags accidentally falling out. Reach to the mag button requires adjusting your grip or a second hand.

Two 9-round mags are provided (including plastic base plate extensions for optional use.) I’d rather leave the mag extensions off, and like the reference of feeling the flat mag baseplate siting flush.

The manual safety is quite firm as well, especially when activating the safety. Body mechanics make it easier to push DOWN for safety off. This is actually good for concealed carry, as I doubt that the safety would easily “walk” to the off position.

The trigger is really crisp to the point that I thought that it was heavier than the trigger spec of 3.5 to 4.5 pounds. Top Gun measured the trigger pull at just under 4 pounds - exactly to spec. I am anticipating the trigger break loosening up a bit at around 500 rounds.

Ammo:
Ed Brown recommends 115 or 124 grain ammo, stating that 147 grain might be a bit much especially with cartridges a bit on the long side. Federal or Winchester White Box recommended.

The EVO KC9 ate all the ammo that I fed it without a hiccup. Federal and Winchester were out of stock, so I ran S&B 115gr and 124gr FMJ, SIG 124gr Elite V-Crown JHP, and Hornady 115gr Critical Defense (a very short round.) This gun feeds well!

Accuracy:
Accuracy is so awesome that I am actually getting bored with paper targets! I just ordered some steel targets from MGM Targets in AR550 hard steel... REALLY looking forward to them! Hickok45 has an excellent video on shooting steel safely.

There are not many Ed Brown EVO KC9s around in inventory. Scoop one up if it appeals to you! I found it to be an excellent entry into custom 1911s.

My experiences with Top Gun Supply have always been excellent.

Not much heavier than the original p320 guide rod but easy change and the new spring is MUCH appreciated! Much softer recoil, improved my groups from less recoil.
Much more fun to shoot from such a simple modification.

Front end of rod not tapered causing rod not to fit. Big problem when changing barrels. Stock Sig rod wider then fat rod when measured with micrometer.

Item was as described, very quality product. The baseplates don't quite fit as well as the one that came with the gun. Its just a tad thicker which means you really have to smack them it to get them to lock in place. I'm hoping i do some light sanding to remedy that. There also a little shorter from to back. This was obvious to me in the picture but I can live with that. Overall very nice and very fast shipping.

Good product with fast easy online ordering and fast delivery

If you think a 45 is too heavy to wear every day, then you don't use of these with a good gun belt. Carrying 45's, I figured out it is not the gun itself that feels heavy, it is the lack of a good holster and belt. This is the best there is, distributing the weight over a wide area. I have a drawer full of old holsters all from top makers, none as good as this. Top quality materials and workmanship, worth every penny, will last for years of daily use. Carry a any 45 with ease in a VM2. Jeff Cooper, Elmer Keith, Clint Smith - all Milt Sparks users, it won't take you long to figure out why.

Used the P500 to install new Trijicon sights on my S/A XDS and on a Glock 19. XDS sights were very tight, Glock not so much but the P500 handled both jobs easily; not a single mark or scratch on either gun.

The 12 round magazine makes the subcompact 365 into a viable duty weapon. In addition it makes the gun feel like a duty weapon. It is hard to believe that with only one extra magazine on my belt I have 25 rounds of +P 9mm ammo at my disposal.
I compared the size and weight of the fully loaded 365 plus one extra magazine to what I carried as a rookie on the Chicago PD-a 42 oz 6 shot .38 special and we were then limited to 6 extra rounds in a dump pouch (the operative word here is "dump"). The difference is weight and bulk is absolutely incredible. I really would like the option of a safety though, simply because I am an old cop and always packed semi autos with a safety.
My absolute favorite handgun forever, conceals 13 rounds like no other handgun!

Hard to find Compact, Small, FDE (sell out QUICKLY), but got the email notification that is was in stock. Placed order on Thursday, received it on Saturday (two days later). New style slide release lever was included. :-)

Purchase this gun wanting a Zenith but they're hard to come by Brad at Top Gun could not have been nicer its I bought it and within 4 days I had the gun Great Gun been wanting one since I've had an hk94 this will do thanks again. You guys are the best

These mags are extremely hard to put 12 rounds into. When finally loaded with the help of a maglula, the mag has to be slammed into the pistol. After slamming into the pistol, it won't allow the slide to be racked.
Sig Customer service was no help. They said to load up the mag and let it sit for a week or so to let the spring settle down. I did as suggested and it's been 2 weeks and still have the same problem. When I told CS I wanted a replacement, I was told that they couldn't guarantee that the replacement would be any better.

I have several of these, and feeding has been flawless through 3 different makes of 1911s. Plus, you're really lucky if you can find these at a lower price elsewhere. Top Gun's service and prices are the best!

I ordered the P226 replacement polymer grips and was surprised to see it didn’t come with grip screws. I had ordered grips previously, P229 grips and received a Sig packaged grips and screws, not this time.

I bought these x grips in order to have a pinky hold on My p229 Elite. Also it gave Me an extra 2 in the mag as I attached them to p226 mags. Perfect fit and I got the pinky hold I was after. Completely satisfied !
