picked up a Kimber TLE/RL 2 in what i think was around 2010
i won a shooting competition against PD firearms instructor (im a civilian). He was very confident in his Springfield XD40... i smoked him. then he complained that im using a "rifle of a handgun" lol... B$%ch there arent any rules on what pistol you can use... he had a 17r mag i had a McCormick 10 in mine. Hes right that 1911 is SUPERIOR to a "plastic" pistol imo in accuracy but he had 7 more shots he can take before reloading on the fly.
i have never had any mechanical issues with this pistol
i have friends who own different models of Kimber who have had a few minor issues and kimber made them whole again
overall i dont think you can go wrong with one of these beauties at this price point
