The Nighthawk Custom Border Special is a finely crafted pistol born from a collaboration with Sheriff Jim Wilson, a legendary law enforcement officer with extensive experience patrolling the southern border and combating crime in the ‘80s. Sheriff Wilson's 40 years of experience with the 1911 platform have shaped his ideas on what a fighting pistol should be, culminating in the creation of the Border Special. This firearm is designed for those who demand performance, reliability, and easy handling in high-stress situations. Built on a Concealed Carry Cut, the Border Special features a Commander-sized frame and slide chambered in the time-tested .45 ACP round. The frame and mainspring housing have been optimized for carry with scallop texturing, ensuring minimal slippage and a comfortable, secure grip. The slide includes a Heinie Slant Pro rear sight and a Gold Bead front sight, enhancing sight acquisition in any lighting condition. The top of the slide is serrated, further improving focus and precision during aiming. NightHawk Custom 1911
The folks at NightHawk Custom are very good at doing it right! These custom 1911s are made using exacting standards and hand fitting by some of the finest pistolsmiths in the industry. All parts on Nighthawk pistols start as solid billet. They are then CNC machined in Berryville Arkansas before final fitting by a craftsman in their shop. The frames are manufactured from solid forgings. The right parts, the right platform and the right building philosophy.
Nighthawk Custom offers their own in-house take on the 1911. These guns are hard to keep in stock because of low production and high demand. Something special about the brand is that the entire 1911 is assembled by hand by a single gunsmith. All 46 parts are carefully assembled and then quality checked to assure a great firearm for our customers.
