Mec-Gar P229-1 17 round magazine for 9mm E2 P229 models. These magazines will not fit P228's or P229 9mm's that typically use 9mm 13RD magazines. The E2 and some of the recent P229 9mm models use a .40S&W frame which has a larger diameter magazine well. Features a special anti-friction type coating. Will function with the M11-A1 |

Easy to order on the website, fast USPS delivery(unusual), product is as described and worked well in my SIG 229-1. Mec-Gar and others should consider a better grip pattern on the plastic base. I added Dragon Grip strips to provide a better grip to remove the magazine once it is ejected. Top Gun Supply is top notch with comms too. Several emails on the status of my order and delivery.

Mec-Gar magazines were the original OEM provider for Sig P229 magazines. In my opinion they are still the best. I own ~40 Mec-Gar mags for my P226 and P229-1 pistols and have found them to be the most reliable magazines for these guns. I prefer them over Checkmate mags. I have restored several Checkmate mags to full-function (after they failed to lock the slide back after last round) by installing Mec-Gar springs and followers (after just replacing the springs alone failed to resolve the problem).
