Sig Sauer Magazine Base Plate - P228-13RD, German P229 .40 12RD

Opened the drawer where a couple of spare magazines are kept, and found a strange thing: The magazine spring sticking out of the mag. loose rounds and the base plate separated.

It quickly begame obvious that maybe because of old age (?) one of the lips on the plastic base had split.

Searched around for replacements and found Top Gun had them at a reasonable price. Ordered one, and it arrived pretty quickly.

Put back the metal plate on the spring, compressed the spring and slid on the new base - good as new!

They fit but center hole needs reamed out and there shorter then factory base pad.

Worked on my older, made in Italy P229 magazines. I did have to enlarge the hole for the floor plate nub to fit as the hole in the new base pads was a little to small.
